Twin Towers\ Armageddon

hey all this may have been mentioned before.

i was thinking last night about when the twin towers fell and i remembered thinking how close armageddon must be did anybody else think similar....i guess it would only apply to those who were still in the borg at the time es

I wasn't even watching TV that morning..but my daughter called me from her work and said "We are at war!" Turn on the TV..

Well I ran to the TV..hubby was at work..I heard the announcement and got goosebumps. I was afraid the attacks would keep coming..

I didn't think "God" was doing this..

But I knew what man was capable of doing in war!

I even called my JW MIL and asked her if she was OK..because I was certainly shook up.I thought she may be just a little afraid..she was in her 80's and lived alone.And I could report back to hubby that she was OK..

She gave me some snide remark like "What did you expect..it's what is prophesised in the bible" why should "I" be upset? (Like I am the only one that should be upset.. being a ex-JW)Then she babbled on some more about the JW's ...she had jehovah's protection..and so on..

I said..I was just worried about you..sorry..and she hung up.She didn't even say good-by..just hung up. Course she never would have done that in front of hubby....

I never worried about her again!

The sad thing that happened to me on 9-11 2 years later was (besides remembering the tragic attacks ) that we were told hubby only had 9 months to live..so 9-11 is a very bad date for me! (He only made it to 5 months)

they're selling the brother's used buicks.

they'll even let you bid on a specific brother's vehicle, if you wish.

We just got one in the mail also! Addressed to Hubby..

They are even selling Extended Service contracts and road coverage..flat tires etc...

I can't believe someone posted this..I have been trying to look up the links for "Circuit Leasing". I wondered why hubby was getting their ads!..The name kept sounding so familiar to me and I associated it with JW's..I am gald I am not crazy..I too remember some posts quite a while back about it being a JW company.

I guess he is on their mailing list..gave to them by the JW's no doubt!

But alas..I couldn't find anything on it!..

I guess they don't know he is no longer with us!..Dumbo's

Do you ever feel invisible?

sometimes i do.

When Hubby was alive and we would go shopping..out to eat or whatever..We would often be overlooked or ignored by the saleperson..waitress..etc.

We used to get upset and complain of how we were being overlooked and we were here first or when are you going to wait on me..and a rude remark usually..

Then we developed this game..it was called..."We Invisible!"

So when we were out..and being neglected..we would look at each other ..laugh ..and say to each other.."We Invisible!"..It always put us in a good mood!

When we were JW's we weren't allowed to have feelings..never admit it if we needed attention or help..

Now as we slowly come out of out shell..we are finding out..it's OK to say..I'm lonesome..I'm depressed...I need help.

And not feel embarrased for it!

Good for you!

ps..And I for one don't answer a lot of posts..but do so enjoy reading them..no one goes unnoticed!..And remember..it takes posts for others to notice you..they don't know you are there if you don't post sometime..

just like the vatican, the wts corporation is rich in assets and buildings but don't have cash money for the daily costs.

I heard that they quit doing their own printing long ago..they were hiring an outside firm to do the printing...I wonder who has been doing the book binding since then?

I guess I just assumed the printing companies were.

Maybe they are just now getting around to selling them.

Got to be because they are downsizing everywhere and it's probably because they need the money!

Otherwise they would ship them to the plant that will be doing the binding!
The production must be slowing down and they don't need them!
Especially since they no longer have subscriptions..

JW Discussion Forums Have Evolved.... Do You Like Them Better?

years ago when h2o was the rage, some unbelievable discussions used to go on.

as a just lurking witness, i found the exchanges to be quite stimulating.

all of the old soldiers were there, the ones that busted any view that jws "could" have "the truth".

Well I enjoy all the boards and all the posters...Good and bad. I learn from each one something different.

I also know that when anger and arguments break out that those people are probably going through some stressful times in their personal life..(Having been there myself). So I make allowance for that. (Now)

I enjoy the intellect ones..I enjoy the fluff..especially the fluff..it taught me to loosen up a little..(My daughter thinks I am loose enough)

But she's a snob...what does she know... (She needs to loosen up a little..)
On the other side my other daughter needs to calm down a little..
Course that's just the way they are..and I love them as they are!

The boards (People)helped me to be stronger..to stand up for my rights..in many ways..

I see the way people are trusting and helpful to each other also. That is very heartwarming..for many don't really even know if these people are legit..but are willing to put themselves out and take a chance...This has taught me to have more compassion..

So I have greatly benefited in many many ways from the XJW boards(People)..

But I am partial to this board because of so much support I got when hubby was ill and dying..Something I will never forget!..

good or bad day and why?.

i guess bad.

i am so sad today and i don't know how to make the sadness go away.

Well..I had a boring but pretty good day.Didn't get anything done but hey..I'm retired!..

While I was on the computer a while ago I heard someone talking away at my door. I thought it was kids wanting to do chores or something. As I got to the front door I saw my neighbor lady walking away towards her house...(We've only talked 3 or 4 times in 20 years)

I went outside to ask her what she wanted and (Listen to this)..She wanted to know if I was being invaded by the "Wood Spiders"?It seems they were nesting in her house!

Well to tell you the history..a few weeks ago they carried her out on a stretcher..she is probably 80 years old and I hadn't seen her since..I thought she died. I asked another neighbor what happened and he said she was seeing faces coming out of the walls so they took her to the hospital for observation.

Well apparently she's out!

She did have a caretaker staying with her but I think she was alone today..no one came looking for her.

Anyway..she goes on and on about the invasion and said she was going to get some bug spray but she wouldn't be able to see them to kill theml! (Bad eyesight)

I told her I had some she could use..so I got it for her and showed her how NOT to spray it in her eyes.(Now I feel like she is spraying all over in the air and will die from the fumes! )

She again asked me if they were nesting in my house yet..I said NO!..I told her that the best way to handle them was to ignore them and they would leave...Then she said she was going to call the police but she had changed her mind.I told her that wasn't too good an Idea..she said all right..

OK..I'm getting a little worried here..But she left happy with my answers...

Now I am afraid to go check on her as she really doesn't know me.(I don't want to frighten her).but I keep looking over there to see if anyone else is there.

I think she is all alone. The only other relative she has is a sister and they moved away some time back..I occasionally see a truck over there but I don't know who it is..but you can bet the next time I see someone over ther I WILL introduce myself. Sounds like she needs a friend just like I do! Imaginary or not...

OK..did you forget your worries yet?

Snoozy..who's moods swing like a pendulum..but remembers tomorrow is always a different day! We are only human..so don't expect outstanding performances out of yourselves all the time! Just remember to do the best with what you got when you can and "Screw the rest!"

My Daughter in law had the diabetes thing with her 2nd child..she was feeling lousy .(She is a tiny thing..only 5 ft and weighed about 110 ehen she delivered..) But things worked out just fine..hang in there..and see the Dr so they can clear up any problems..Then enjoy..The Baby..

I saw Angelina Jolie's name mentioned here..I haven't seen any of her movies..but I do remember one time thet Jeff? guy..(The spokesman on Survivor ) was interviewed on TV and they asked him if HE was marooned on a desert Island..who would he like to be marooned with..he said definately "Angelina Jolie"..He said not only because of her looks..she is great fun and he thinks she would be fun to be stranded with!..

I got this post mixed up with the other one on Movies that got good reviews but you thought they sucked!..Posted my movies over there...

I'm surprised someone mentioned "White Noise"..my daughter couldn't stop raving about it.She wants me to see it.

And Gone with the Wind was spectacular to me!

I love the classics..hate the movies with violence..loved Red Planet and mission to mars!

Watched "Shrek" with the grandkids..loved it!

Loved all the "Planet of the Apes Movies" though..violence and all.

Funny how the violence in the older movies aren't as gory as they are now..

Snoozy..who doesn't see many movies unless they are on Cable...
